National Grid came to visit Year 5 and 6 to talk about the gas tower in our local area. The children learnt about the history of the area and how Taplow was a large gas center in the area. They even discovered that people used to have tea and cake on top of the gas tower- not very safe at all! The second part of the workshop was a science experiment. They mixed vinegar and bicarbonate of soda to cause a gas, before placing a balloon on top to see if the gas from the reaction would blow it up! The children had a lot of fun!
