Summer term 2020
Comparing English and African village life
Week beginning 13th July
I can't believe we are in the final week of term and almost at the end of your child's first year at school.
In maths, we will be learning about halving shapes and quantities. We will work within our phonics groups and spend time recapping set 2 and 3 sounds, reading, writing and perfecting handwriting. We will finish our topic about Africa and will design and make an African collar out of collage materials.
The children will have the opportunity to have a daily active session and they will use the bikes and trikes on Wednesday.
Each child has a tray on their desk, which is filled with fun activities that they can do whilst socially distancing at their desk, or in a space outside.
I am not setting any home learning for the summer, however please do keep practising set 2 and 3 sounds which are in the yellow phonics book. Keeping this up over the summer will ensure a smooth transition for year 1 phonics group work.
