Your task is to write the opening paragraph and one detailed paragraph for a newspaper article about the Macmillan Coffee Morning that we hosted together. 

Imagine you are a reporter for The Maidenhead Advertiser.  Use your best journalistic writing to report on the event.

Key Features to Include:

  • A Catchy Headline: Make it bold and snappy (use an alliteration or a pun if you can).
  • The 5 Ws in the Opening: Your first paragraph must tell the reader Who, What, Where, When and Why. You may like to include some independent research here.
  • Past Tense & Third Person: Write using words like he, she, they, it and past tense verbs (e.g., gathered, performed, raised).
  • Direct Speech: Include one quote from an eyewitness (e.g., Reverend Jane, Ms Holmes, or a proud parent) using correct speech marks.
