School Lunches

The school hot lunch provider is Dolce Ltd. The system that they use for the ordering and paying of meals is called School Grid.

The school will upload the new menu for each term as it is forwarded to us by the company. School Grid will send all parents a link in order to create your accounts. This email will go to the primary contact email address held by the school. If any parents are unsure if their details are correct please contact the school office on 01628 603759 or by email to schooloffice@stnicolastaplow.com

Any further questions can be directed to Mrs Warren in the school office.

Dolce Menu Autumn 2021

EYFS and Key Stage 1 (Years R, 1, 2) Universal Infant Free School Meals
Free hot meals are provided for children in EYFS and Key Stage 1 (KS1), or you can provide a packed lunch if your child would prefer them.  Meals are ordered in advance using the Dolce meal ordering system Schoolgrid.  The deadline for orders is 9AM on the morning of the day of the lunch.  There is a daily choice of meat, vegetarian or jacket potato dishes and you can order as many or few lunches as you would like. Orders can be made for a number of weeks in advance to ease the pressure of ordering on a weekly basis.

Key Stage 2 Hot Lunches
Due to current restrictions we are unable to offer hot school paid lunches to KS2 children, those eligible for free school meals are not affected.

Cancelling Meals For Sick Children

Parents must ensure that on any days when their child is sick they must login to their Dolce account before 9AM and cancel the booked meal for that day. Meals that are not cancelled will still be debited from your account as it will have been prepared by the kitchen.

Any parents encountering difficulties in cancelling their meal prior to 9AM and still before 9:30AM can contact Mrs Warren in the school office for assistance. Meals cannot be cancelled after 9:30AM.

Packed Lunches
If you decide to provide a packed lunch for your child, please ensure that it does not contain chocolate bars, fizzy drinks or any products containing nuts.  This helps to support our healthy schools initiative and protects those with allergies.  Please also consider not putting too much in the lunchbox, so that your child can eat it in the half an hour lunch slot.

Free School Meals
If you are receiving benefits, you may be eligible for Free School Meals.  Eligibility for Free School Meals will also trigger additional funding of £1345 for the school per child.  Forms to apply for Free School Meals are distributed termly or you can ask at the office.  Alternatively, speak to Mr Warren, Business Manager in confidence.
