Phonics

We use the Read, Write Inc. scheme for teaching phonics.

The children are continuing recapping and securing their knowledge of set 1 and special friends sounds. They are using this knowledge to read and write words. All children are also having opportunities to read and write short sentences using the words taught.

Please continue practising the sounds we have already learnt using the green set 1 sounds practice booklet.

Please also sit with your child and help them to form a curly c - starting from the top and not the bottom. This forms the basis for all of the curly letters: a, o, g, d and q.
