During the spring term our science lessons were focussed on child-led investigations as we worked on our entries for the 'Big Science' competition. The children came up with the most amazing ideas to investigate, from wondering whether green or red apples would decay more quickly to working out how tough the skins of some fruits are! Each class put forward their best entry before Ms Holmes and Mrs Bunce spent an enjoyable afternoon judging which entry would represent the school. We were so impressed with the hard work evident by all the children, but after some deliberation, Elm class (Year 1) were chosen. Their enthusiasm and interest in their investigation on what plants and animals they might find near trees shone through. Good luck for the next stage of the competition!
